Auvergne & Puy-de-Dôme Surroundings

Omgeving

Would you like to enjoy the calm and the natural scenery during your holiday? Or would you rather take a sporty challenge? Either way, the Auvergne is the perfect region for you.

There's an enormous diversity in landscapes; there are beautiful vistas, and the striking Gorges de Sioulle and the volcanic landscapes are impressive to both young and old.
Our camp site is on the border of the Puy-de Dôme department, which is named after one of the youngest volcanoes in the Massif Central in the Auvergne. The summit of the Puy de Dôme is well-known because of the Tour de France.

From our camp site you can take many different walks and cycling tours. We can give you clear, easily understandable maps! There are many superb way marked walks and cycling tours in the surrounding area as well, and we enjoy advising you on which ones are right for you.
Before you go on your walk or cycling tour, you can fill your backpack with a wonderful picnic at our restaurant, so you won't get hungry along the way. The picnic consists of filled rolls, a thermos filled with tea or coffee and an apple.

Our camp site is a great home base for lovers of golf, since there are multiple golf courses in the vicinity. We have good contacts with all of them and will be delighted to make a reservation for you.

The Auvergne is also well-known for its flea markets and its gastronomy.

Every week you'll find a flea market to stroll over somewhere.

For food connoisseurs there are many options.

You can enjoy a good French cheese, like the flavourful Bleu d'Avergne, or a tasty saucisse.

There are several (large) supermarkets in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines, where you can do your daily grocery shopping.

In this town you'll also find a butcher's and cashpoints, and, if need be, medical aid.

For delicious croissants and baguettes you won't even have to leave our campsite, because every day we sell fresh bread from our artisan bakery in the village.
